Braden turns NINE

Our little "sweetlips" Braden turned nine on the 27th. We had a wonderful day making it to his favorite place, Teppenyaki, for the shrimp.
We also took him to get his DS that he had saved for and we pitched in for his birthday present.
After dinner we went to Granmas and pas for cake and ice cream. Braden continues to be the fun, smiling, happy one of the family. This year he has gotten into baseketball and is quite the little defender. He is a big help to his little brother, when he is in the mood and goes along with whatever is happening (most of the time). He has started piano lessons and is loving it, although he doesn't always like to practice. He loves his wrestle time with dad and enjoys pain, as dad says. He is quite strong and naturally built. This past summer after swimming he got in the car and Jaron and I were saying how built he is and his natural pecks. He commented, "Little man, big pecks" That's our Brady boy and we love him!

TWINS!!!

We are excited to say that we are expecting twins in August. I am 10 weeks along and doing well. I have been quite tired, hungry, and naseous. We found out we were pregnant early Dec and we were thrilled! We told the boys on Christmas by giving them a gift of a onsie. Braden and Nathan weren't quite sure what it was, but Tyson got it right away. He was like "oh...a baby" Then the other two were very excited! Tyson was still a bit subdued and when I got some time with him he said he was worried about the pain I would go through (such a sweetheart). We found out on the 29th that we were carrying twins. We were very shocked and it has taken some time for it to sink in! We had another appointment this week and got to see the babies moving around. What a miracle it is! We are so excited for this adventure we are upon. We will go from a family of 5 to a family of 7 and know that there will be many adjustments ahead. The boys are so excited and Nathan asks questions every day about the babies. It is fun to have older kids this time that know what is going on. Nathan being so excited has spread the word for us to all his friends, primary class and school class:) I will keep posting about our progress!

Long winter nights

At our house being outside is everything, so when winter is here and we can't go outside, we get a little bored. Here are some pics to show you what the kids come up with on those long winter nights inside.

Nathan's stiches

Nathan was happily walking down the driveway on the way to the bus stop yesterday afternoon when he slipped on the ice and hit his head on the cement. I promptly picked him up and took him inside where I could see that he would need stiches. He was nervous to go to the doctor and said his head was fine and he wanted to go to school. Luckily we were with Amber who is a nurse and helped us out. She drove us to instacare while I kept pressure on the wound. Nathan was very brave while the doctor put cream on the wound to numb it. He also got many shots in the wound and a double layer of stiches. I was very proud of my little man as he was so brave!
That makes it 3 for 3 with our boys and stiches. Tyson had them when he was 2 after running into our entertainment center and Braden had them a couple summers ago when Grandma and Grandpas log swing hit him in the head!

Holidays

This holiday season has been wonderful! Jaron was off from Christmas through New Years and we had a wonderful time just hanging out as a family. We spent time with cousins, spent much time in the snow, and watched many movies! Our idea of a holiday break. Here are some pictures from the kids and dad playing in the snow.
