Tyson's Birthday

So my first born turned 11 on the 10th. It is amazing how fast these kids grow. It seems like only last month I was hanging out with Tyson watching Blues Clues. Oh where does the time go. Tyson is growing so fast. He has officially become a pre-teen, where his friends are his world! He continues to amaze us with his intellect. He loves social studies in school and comes home and educates me! He loves his new PSP he got for his birthday. He asked everyone for money and he was able to save up for it (with mom and dads contribution of course). Tyson is becoming a young man. We are proud of his knowledge of the gospel he shows and those small moments when the spirit is felt. Happy Birthday my Ty boy, we love you!

THANK YOU JARON

Just wanted to put a shout out to my wonderful husband. At this time of the year I have been gone quite a bit from home with YW and a community choir I am in. Thankfully the choir performance is tonight! Jaron has taken the kids every night and made it so much easier for me and my guilt of being away from home. You know it is bad when your 5 year old asks "where is mom tonight? Oh I know she is at Young Women's" And whenever we have somewhere to go, or something to drop off to someone, he replies "this is for Young Women's isn't it" I am so glad that I am able to serve in YW and be a part of their lives at this time, but it does require time away from my family. I also LOVE being a part of a choir especially at this wonderful time of year. So, thank you my dear husband, I love you beyond words!

Family Pictures

Tis the season to get family pictures done. It is always a chore to get everyone ready and smiling for pictures. The boys got home on Friday and as soon as they walked through the door it was complaining and moaning over having to do pictures. To say the least we were all in a bad mood when we finally got to our destination. Thankfully we had a few turn out and captured our family for 2008. Here are a few of the shots we took!

Nathans Prayers

Lately Nathans prayers have gone something like this: Thank you for the gospel and please bless him... I haven't had the heart to tell him that the gospel is not a person because it is so cute to hear him say that. Tonight at family night though the bubble was burst. Tyson, being the older, wiser brother, firmly told Nathan after his prayer that the gospel was not Heavenly Father and we do not need to bless it.

Blogging 101

I love when my friends know things that I don't know. They can come over and show me how to do things, without me having to figure it out myself! I lean on Jaron a lot for that when it comes to computer stuff. But since he has nothing to do with blogging, I called my trusted friend Christa for a Blogging 101 lesson. All my questions got answered and my blog is now looking the way I want it to. Thank you for your help Christa!

Halloween

A night for goblins, ghouls, skeletons, and witches. We decided this year to add to that night a wizard, a gangsta, the grim reaper, a police man, and a nerd! Jaron had too much fun scaring the older kids in our neighborhood when he answered the door. All the inside lights were out and he would open the door slowly and not say a word. Tyson and Nathan had fun posing for pictures. It was an unseasonably warm evening which made going out with the kids nice. We made it around the whole neighborhood, a first for us! It helps that we were with the Barrus' who are veterans at that! Here is the whole crew before going out.

Pumpkin Carving

October is Jaron's favorite month of the year, it helps that it is the month of his birthday! He enjoys everything fall, the weather, the food, football, his birthday and Halloween. I love that he gets so into this holiday. I also love that he enjoys carving the pumpkins with the kids. The boys look forward to the evening they can spend with dad and carve their pumpkins. The last few years we have grown our own pumpkins which has made it that much more enjoyable. Each year the kids get their pumpkins and show dad the face they want. This year Tyson was old enough to carve his own so it didn't take as long to get them all done.

Fall Leaves

We LOVE to play in the fall leaves. They are crunchy and great to jump into. Today we went over to our park (with the Barrus - love it when your friends are off track with you) and made ourselves a good pile! It was fun to jump in, throw on eachother, and make leave angels.

What do we do when we are off track?

We have had some fun times already this off track. We were able to go to Vernal with our good friends the Barrus. The Barrus have kids our kids ages plus two more! We have tons of fun together and it is nice that the kids get along so well. What do you do in Vernal you ask? Well we enjoyed some time at the Dinosaur Museum...we had a fight with the cat tail seeds. Braden got me good right in the face and it was over from there. Here is Amber, Tyson, and Jacob covered in seeds.
After that it was to the park for some tree climbing.
Jacob and Braden. Nathan and Grace.
Here is a taste of what the car ride was like. Jacob and Braden live in their own little world when they are together and we all have to put up with it! Abigail, Tyson's buddy is in this.

Sunday Forts

Growing up, one of my favorite things to do on Sunday was to make a fort with my brothers. We would get all the couch cushions out and make a big fort that we were able to keep up all day. We would most often play our marathon Monopoly game in the fort. My boys also enjoy doing this on Sunday and since we have a ping pong table in the basement, it is a perfect place to have a fort.
They take their music and a lamp down in there. Sometimes they play games and draw pictures. This week the Toys R Us Toy magazine came in the paper so they took that in their fort and looked it over, circling what they wanted for Christmas. Good luck boys, hope you have been good!

Last Soccer game of the season

We are glad to say that today marks the end of soccer until spring. With flag football and soccer over we have a couple months break until basketball starts! Nathan LOVES soccer and is a great little defender. He likes to go right after the ball. Today he had a break away steal and took it the length of the field. Way to go Nate!

Witches at Gardner Village

One of the things we do in October is go witch hunting. This year since the kids are off track for Halloween it was nice to go during the week...although it was still crowded. The boys love to see the witches and each have their favorites. I think they really enjoy the sugar cookies after at the bakery! Tyson's favorite witch is the one that will do anything for chocolate, since he can relate...so can I! Braden enjoys most of the witches and has a hard time picking just one, but his favorite this year was the hula-hooping witch. Nathan likes the witch that is in the "witchy-poo" What is it with boys and their potty humor?

Blogging here I come

So after seeing so many of my friends in the blog world and enjoying being able to catch up on their lives so easily I have decided to take the plunge. I like to scrapbook, but not because I am creative. I scrapbook to put pictures with journal entries, so I thought this might be a more up to date way of doing that. We will see how I do!
